Exercise through childhood is important not only for physical development and muscular strength but also for mental health and well-being. Children are less likely to become over-weight if they are physically active. Besides the health benefits of regular exercise – fit kids sleep better!
Mental health issues in children have increased in the last 2 decades. Exercise is a fantastic way for children to relieve stress and anxiety. Team activities can also promote confidence and develop social skills as well as making new friends.
I run Children’s Circuit Training Sessions with a Nutrition Based Concept. The course is based over 8 weeks and each week we concentrate on a different area of nutrition e.g sugar, fruit and veg, eat well plate etc. There are competitions throughout the session to help retain the knowledge.
The overall aim is to encourage children to think more about what they eat, as well as being active and to encourage them to maybe ask for different foods at home. Each session is based on a group of 8 to 10 circuits each with a different exercise.
